For a year or two now I have been giving away information about how to get number one in Google, but when I searched for that phrase I was horrified to see that I was on the second page of Google! This isn't a particularly good ad for me, but there again I am up against 246,000,000 results so competition is somewhat stiff!

Anyway to combat this I am making this blog post and her some features of this post.

I am writing about the phrase I want to rank for, this just happens to include related keyphrases and keywords which are important

I have titled the blog post: "How to get number one in Google"

I have also tagged the post (see below) with the phrase too

I have added and image where the file name is how-to-get-number-one-in-google.jpg and given the alt text as the keyphrase too

I have also changed the title of my blog to "How to get number one in Google"

I have changed the meta description of my site to this: "How to get number one in Google is the main aim of web 2.0 strategist Rick Lomas. Rick looks into keyword research and ways to get tons of backlinks to your site, to get it ranking and make you money"

I have added the phrase to my meta keywords

So how should this improve matters? Well ths is what is known as "on page SEO" and it is the absolute least you should do to get your site ranking. The other part of the strategy is the off site linking strategy, but you'll have to ask me nicely if you want to tell you how to do that! (please comment below)

Anyway today is the 4th June 2009 so lets see how soon I can rank on the first page of Google for "how to get number one in Google".

If you have enjoyed my advice then please subscribe to my blog.

I've heard some great reports from my readers as they have transformed their online income overnight using this, so are you ready to step it up a gear or maybe you are not ready to make videos and want to try something else? (FYI – I just do everything I can to stick my content down Google's throat!)

Article Directories have been the most consistent way to get powerful backlinks and steady traffic since the beginning of Internet Marketing. Sure, I have used this strategy, but only with EzineArticles so far. There are however thousands of other Article Directories and in an ideal world there would be a unique version of each of your articles in each one, all pointing back to your site or blog. This of course would have taken forever, until now…

So…What is the easiest, most reliable, and cheapest way to get
traffic to your website?

Want the quick answer? Click here

Getting high quality traffic is probably the biggest question
asked by both new and established online businesses. After
all, it makes no difference if you are selling a product,
promoting affiliate links, or displaying adsense – you need
traffic. And loads of it.  So how do you do it?

Well, you could buy advertising. Hmm. Expensive. It is easy
to spend several thousands of dollars A MONTH through Google.

You could buy text links. Also expensive – and rapidly losing
effectiveness in the search engines. Just 100 links can set
you back upwards of $2,000. But you need THOUSANDS of links
for most niches.

You could buy the "Latest and Greatest" black-hat technique -
whether that be "blog and ping", "tag and ping", log-file
spamming, blog-comment spamming, or whatever else some clever
whiz-kid has come up with. The problem is, by the time the
whiz-kid releases it to you, it is already past its sell-by
date. Too bad, you missed the boat. And maybe you got your
site banned too.

But did you know that there is one, rock-solid, technique that
has been quietly working since the very beginning of the
internet, is completely immune to changes in search engine
algorithms, is 100% legitimate and ethical, takes very little
time, and costs almost nothing?

Need your new site listed by the search engines in days rather
than weeks or months? This will do it. Need top placings for
organic traffic, even in highly competitive markets? This will
do it.

What is more, it can even help you with the offline promotion
too!

But it gets even better. Over the past year, my good friend
Dr. Noel Swanson has put this method onto steroids. He has
been quietly using it to build his adsense empire, AND to
promote his own products, snagging the Number 1 position in
Google from 270 million competing websites as he did so!

And now, having decided that it won't hurt his own business by
doing so, he is releasing this system to other smart
marketers. People like you, in fact.

http://www.uniquearticlewizard.com/amember/go.php?r=4650&i=l0

Not only that, but if you act quickly, you can lock in your
membership at a ridiculously low price – and promote as many
websites as you want at no extra cost!

Please be clear on this. This is NOT the "latest and
greatest" fad. It will not be "worn out" in the next month or
two. This is an already well-established method that is being
quietly used by all the smartest marketers – but that has now
been brought to a whole new level of simplicity and power.

If you are paying money for Google adwords and/or any other
form of online advertising or traffic generation and NOT using
Noel's system then, quite frankly, you need your head examined!

Go take a good look at it now:

Hopefully you found this by searching for, "Good Titles for Blog Posts" or something similar, I made this post to answer a question and show how effective titles are. This came about from a question by someone on my Free Internet Marketing Course.

Brett Stark asked:

Hi Rick,

one thing that has been annoying me. how to create ( The perfect page title ), I know this is probably kid stuff for most.yet I have read it has a strong impact on the relevance of listing with Google or any the search engines for that matter.

Do you know of any online tools that helps to create page title on the fly? been doing allot research on this and find very few resources if any – besides Google tools. please let me know and thank you again for guidance.

My answer: A web page is really just a text file with <tags> that make certain things behave differently. Just as a keyphrase should be used within the text, hyperlinked to similar things and put in <h1> tags for example, it should also be in the <title> tag. So to find a good title use something like Wordtracker, but also use your brain. For example, after reading your question, I thought that the title 'Good Titles for Blog Posts' might be appropriate for this answer, but Wordtracker didn't reveal much at all. But, I'm going to give it a go and see what happens.

If your phrase you are going for is something like 'Good Titles for Blog Posts' but you want a longer title, use your keyphrase at the start. For example, I could have called this 'Rick's thoughts on good titles for blog posts', but really 'good titles for blog posts by Rick' will probably work much better.

You have also probably noticed that the keyphrase got mentioned a few times throughout this post: that helps too, but don't over do it. Infact I think I might have overdone it already which is why I am adding this paragraph at the end of the post. Good luck.

p.s. My general rule of thumb is that if you are spending time wondering what to do, at least do something else while you are thinking about it!

I decided to use Traffic Assistants at the beginning of 2008 on the advice of “traffic guru”, Howie Schwartz. Howie’s strategy involves building a network of web 2.0 properties and linking them to each other and also to your ‘money page’. Each property is linked to your money page or offer. Each property is based around just 1 keyphrase.

To add extra juice to this linking structure each property needs to be social bookmarked on multiple bookmarking sites. In addition to this, each web 2.0 property, including the social bookmarking sites has an RSS feed that needs to be pinged at Pingoat or Pingomatic. This strategy works fantastically and can easily get you multiple entries on the first few pages of Google, the only downside is it takes time and quite frankly it is very tedious work. For this reason I decided to use Traffic Assistants.

For more complex products I will make the properties myself and just give Traffic Assistants a list of URLs and ask them to ping them, bookmark them and then ping the bookmarks. For real quick stuff I will just give them content and the URL of my money page and say “go do Howie’s Phase 1”.

In the future I intend to explode my motorhome hire network, in which case I will say,

Set Google alerts for “www.motorhomesdirect.co.uk” and my freephone number “0800 612 8719”

Whenever either the URL or phone number is indexed: ping, bookmark and ping the bookmarks

You can see the beauty in this: as my articles, videos and bookmarks get syndicated around the web, the Traffic Assistant will give extra power to that by adding further links to the network of sites that are all eventually pointing to the main ‘money page’. As the whole of this process can be outsourced to a Traffic Assistant this means that after the initial work, I do nothing!

So to some up, I think that; for each day I spend creating ideas and work for the Traffic Assistants, I give the Traffic Assistant 9 days work, this frees up another 9 days of my time that I can spend doing what I am best at, monetization, niche identification and keyword research. This is true leverage and I believe the only way to scale up your online business.

I would recommend Traffic Assistants to anyone who believes they are spending too much time repeating tasks that they know they could easily outsource.
I was at The Authority Summit in Las Vegas last year where Barbara Drazga gave a talk on outsourcing and she asked the question, “What is your hourly rate?”. She said that in a year there are only really 750 hours a year where you do productive work, so think about what you expect or would like to earn in a year and divide it by 750, this gives you your hourly rate. For most of us this is usually quite high, so think about what work you could outsource and then look at the hourly rate that Traffic Assistants charge. Has the penny dropped yet? This is what makes outsourcing work!

There is a long waiting list for Traffic Assistants, but if you contact me I can get your application fast tracked.
