In my last step I was waiting for the propagation of the domain name. This is basically to tell all the nameservers in the World that they will find www.estartitrentals.com on IP 231.175.196.80. this process used to take about a day but now it takes less than an hour.
If I now fire up Safari and look for my domain name I just see a raw listing of the domain. In my case all I could see was the cgi-bin folder, that's fine. Now let's put a site on it.
If I key in www.estartitrentals.com/cpanel I get to login in to my cpanel. This shows up a little strange on the iPhone but it's all there.
scroll down to find Fantastico or in my case Fantastico Deluxe. Now it's just a simple matter of installing wordpress from here:
install on domain.=estartitrentals.com
install in directory=leave blank
username=fgghj
password.=pwdhhhhj
email=your email
title=Estartit Rentals
description=Estartit Rentals
then click 'install wordpress'
now that believe it or not is it, all done with an iPhone 3GS and no computer and no wifi.

I tried my hardest to set private nameservers but neither the GoDaddy app or the mobile version allowed me to get that far in. I tried copying the URL of the non-mobile site and using this was able to get to sort of the right page but then it uses a frame that I needed to scroll down to which doesn't really work in the iPhone Safari browser. So I went for the easy option and just set the nameservers to match the ones provided by the hosting company. I've done this now, so I'm just going to have dinner while it propagates. FYI I just used the GoDaddy app for this, but the mobile site looked just as easy.

For those of you are interested, I'm using the wonderful iBlogger app to blog all this. It works well, but it's limited what you can do with images etc. So I'm afraid it's just 1 image per step.
I used my eUKhost.com hosting service to set up the domain. It's good solid
cheap UK hosting which is fine. The minimum requirement I look for in hosting is a Linux server, MySQL database and CPanel, this is pretty much standard these days.
It was a bit fiddly on the iPhone, but still doable. I logged into my account then – create new account, then just:
domain:estartitrentals.com
user:estartit
password:*********
then I left everything else on default.
I now hit create and it gives a screen as seen, with my IP address.
231.175.196.80
write this down!
Next step I'll tell you how to install Wordpress on this domain using CPanel.

I seem to have landed my self in hospital for a few days. So I thought I'd set myself a challenge whilst I'm here.
I'm going to attempt to build a complete website from scratch using just an iPhone and it's 3G connection. Not only am I going to do this, but I'm also going to show you how to register private nameservers, which has an advantage for SEO in addition to an extra level of security against server attacks.

So the first step is to go the App Store and download the GoDaddy app. This free and you can set up your account very quickly. You can either choose to pay for domains by card or PayPal, which is cool.

Once you have done this just check your domain for availability and buy it. .com domains are generally less than $10/yr. I usually buy one for 1 year and then as long as I've made at least $100 in that year, I'll probably renew it for about 5 years next time. I just do this because sometimes I have bought a domain which Google just refuses to index, so if I can't make it with Bing and Yahoo alone I sometimes ditch it.

OK I've downloaded the App – bought estartitrentals.com and just waiting about 10 mins for it to become active. Next time I'll set up some hosting for it.
