Before we start, I should say that this should be spelt AMD Athlon XP3200.
The actual processor we are referring to is the AMD Athlon XP3200+ Barton Core 400FSB
- AXD - AMD Athlon XP
- A - Power consumption class: designed for desktop systems
- 3200 - Performance index, as per Quanispeed
- D - Package type: OPGA
- K - Operating voltage: 1.65V
- V - Admissible temperature of the package: 85 deg C
- 4 - L2 cache size: 512K
- E - System bus speed: 200 (400DDR) MHz.
I am interested in buying one of these processors as I built a PC system a few years ago, but could not afford the XP3200 processor so I used an XP3000+, but obviously this only gives you the 333FSB. So now a few years have passed, we should be able to get one cheaper, eBay seems a good bet!
