In 1999 a good friend of mine, the excellent Thomas H Green was writing for DJ Magazine, which was published in the UK to cater for people on the dole who couldn't afford any decks, just the magazine.
Thomas got me a job writing articles for the T-scan section of the magazine which was a really sketchy technical stab at what real magazines like Future Music did so much better. I tested some hardware, but mostly software...I got to keep the software, but never the hardware!!
I thing DJ Magazine got pissed off with me when I took off 'round Europe, although they did send some software to Le Caravaneige in Chantemerle when we were living in a caravan. Not having an internet connection put an end to my career as a journalist, but hey, I earnt a few quid and got to play with some nice gear.
