Whether you want to visit the UK coming in from another country or you’ve lived here all your life, motorhome hire can set you up with a small home away from home, on wheels. There are many benefits to travelling the countryside in a motor home. Some of the seemingly obvious (and a perhaps a few not so obvious) ones will be discussed here.

Many people believe that travelling in a motor home is the most comfortable way to explore the world around them. There are also several different sizes for people to choose from. These days, the amenities can be kept to the bare minimum or you can go all out and get one complete with many of today’s technological conveniences. Most motor homes come with at least one bed, and an area to use the loo, but many modern motor homes are equipped with much more.

Comfort is key when it comes to travelling on the road, especially if you’re taking a long trip. If you plan to spend most of your time on the road, choosing a larger vehicle might be in your best interest. For those who plan on staying in hotels, a smaller camper van might be the most appropriate. Either way, you must be sure that you’re comfortable driving whichever vehicle you pick.

There are many campsites that are made specifically for motor homes. Here you will find a safe place to sleep, and many times you’ll be able to charge up batteries by using electricity that the camp provides. Some camps charge a fee for your stay, but it is possible to find sites that cost nothing at all.

If it’s just you and one other person, a two-berth home might be just what you need. However, if you have several people along for the ride, you can easily hire one with a berth up to six. This will allow up to six adults to sleep and move around comfortably. If you’re all going to be spending the majority of the trip inside the home, it will also probably be important to find a home that has adequate bathroom facilities.

Many modern motor homes also have flat-screen televisions, DVD players, sound systems, full kitchens (complete with stoves and microwaves) and showers with both hot and cold water. If your ultimate goal is to buy one of these motor homes, renting different kinds before you decide, might be a wise investment.

When people want to travel around and experience the most out of the countryside, comfort is very important. Being able to pull over and get a good night’s rest could be the difference between a miserable day and a wonderful day. When your vacation requires a lot of driving, it is essential to get enough sleep. When you’re travelling in a motor home, you will never have to worry about finding a place to lay your head.

Travelling can be expensive, but motorhome hire can help ease some of the financial worry. No matter where you end up, you will always have a roof over your head. This is probably one of the biggest draws to traversing the terrain in a motorized home on wheels.

If you are planning a holiday you may wish to consider motorhomes for hire. It can be better than flying as you are taking your accommodations with you. However, there are some important things to know before you get behind the wheel of a motor home or campervan. Here are some important tips to make your trip easier.

You should check your driving license, as a category C1 license is needed for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes and less than 7.5 tonnes. If you have been driving longer than January 1997, your license should already be qualified. However, if your motor home is in excess of 7.5 tonnes, an HGV license is required. HGV stands for heavy goods vehicle.

It is important to know about motor homes before you drive one. These vehicles are very large and it is different than driving a car. This kind of vehicle is much heavier than your car and it will not come to a stop as easily. Do not forget about height clearance when travelling also. If this is your first time, it may be a good idea to have some training. Check with local auto clubs for training classes.

Make sure that you pack at least one torch when travelling. Even though the motor home has sufficient lighting, you may need emergency light if something goes wrong. Also, you may not have a lot of light at the campsite and a torch or emergency light can come in handy. You may consider emergency lighting that does not require batteries and you simply crank it up.

If you want to save on fuel, do not fill the fresh water tank full. In fact, it may be best to fill it about half full. This will weigh much less and help with fuel economy, as motor homes can use a lot of fuel.

Try to pack efficiently. In other words, do not bring too many things with you. This is especially true with toys and things for children. If you travel with a full motor home, it can make it uncomfortable for everyone. Also, consider soft suitcases as they are easier to store out of the way. The fewer things you can bring, the easier it will be, and it will help save on fuel.

You should consider an extra gas bottle for things such as the stove. If you are on a long trip, you may use more gas than you think, and it may be difficult to find a place to purchase gas when travelling. You also may consider using cooking facilities that are available at your campsite, as this can help you save on gas.

Hiring a motor home can be an enjoyable experience. However, it is important to remember that they are much different than a car. Motorhomes for hire steer and stop quite differently than cars. Be sure that you have the proper driving license and to save fuel, fill the water tank halfway. Try not to pack too many things for the trip, and if it is a long holiday, an extra gas bottle may come in handy.

Camper vans for hire range from smaller Trigano Tribute 2 berth motorhomes up to the large Mooveo C7 Motorhomes. We like to call them motorhomes, we think the name camper vans sounds a bit like an old van with a mattress chucked in the back, our motorhomes are not like that at all! You can be sure of a luxury motorhome with all the mod cons you would expect at home, hot and cold running water, gas central heating, DVD player and TV and fully integrated kitchen complete with cooker, fridge and much more.

At the time of writing it is almost December, the quietest month at motorhome, but one of the best months to book your motorhome hire for next year as you get to choose from the widest range available. The range is of course vast, but by the time Easter, The Festival Season and The Summer Holidays are upon us we are going to be busy busy busy.

So let’s forget about the winter for the moment and give us a call on 0800 612 8719 to find out more about the motorhomes and camper vans for hire. Don’t forget also that the winter is a popular time for buying camper vans and we have plenty of ex rental campervans for sale too.

I've often heard myself that I am never going to resist making a web site ever again unless it is for myself, but I made an exception today. My good friend Jon Nicholls from the UK has a passion about World War One and in particular the French Battlefields of Arras and other areas. He's even written a book called 'Cheerful Sacrifice' which is about The Battle of Arras 1917.

Many years ago he formed a small group called Hampstead Pals with the intention of organizing Battlefield Trips to France.

Anyway, I registered the domain name yesterday and made a site today (using my favourite Wordpress/Semiologic platform), so my aim now is to get into Google ASAP. I proved that The Google Sandbox does not exist a few weeks ago, so watch this space and I will prove it again.

Meanwhile, go and look at the site I just made, it's simply called Hampstead Pals.
