How To Do Keyword Research With Google's External Keyword Tool
By Lee Cole
Google's External Keyword Tool is a great resource that I use a lot when trying to get a feel for a new niche and for good keywords to use in that niche. What I like about Google's tool is it's flexibility. You can type in a less specific keyword and it will return you a whole list of more specific keywords. You can also type in the URL of a website and Google's tool will tell you what keywords it "sees" that website optimized for.

OK you have heard on about my system of finding a longtail keyphrase and then using Traffic Geyser to create videos which gets you all over the first page of Google. I've heard some great reports from my readers as they have transformed their online income overnight using this, so are you ready to step it up a gear or maybe you are not ready to make videos and want to try something else? (FYI – I just do everything I can to stick my content down Google's throat!)

I've often heard myself that I am never going to resist making a web site ever again unless it is for myself, but I made an exception today. My good friend Jon Nicholls from the UK has a passion about World War One and in particular the French Battlefields of Arras and other areas. He's even written a book called 'Cheerful Sacrifice' which is about The Battle of Arras 1917.

I am in the process of reworking a web site by using Wordpress and Semiologic Pro. The site in question is a site called M&L Associates, this was a site originally written as static HTML in notepad, but the site has been offline for 18 months. This is interesting to note as at the moment it has 0 pages indexed in Google which is probably poorer than a brand new domain just registered. This has surprised me, clearly as far as indexing goes Google favours brand new domains over scrapped or neglected domains.

I just wrote this comment about Search Engine Optimization for Dummies by Peter Kent, I thought that maybe people reading this would be interested to read what I wrote.
Last September, I went to Jack Humphrey's 'Authority Summit' in Las Vegas and indeed the emphasis was on Blogging. So much so that I only really fire up Dreamweaver every now and again just to get a bit of code to paste into my blogs, the days of Dreamweaver templates and FTP have seriously gone for me now. I'm not even relying on my hosted stuff either, I'm using free web 2.0 properties and free blogs etc. So what has been the result for me with this? Well, I pay less in hosting and don't have to deal with pushing thousands of pages up by FTP, I can outsource a lot of my work more easily so I work less, I have multiple spots on the first few pages for my chosen keywords which means I am always top and I can push my competition back on to page 2 of Google. Generally life is better now I am blogging (which I can do from my phone!).
