Losing Weight

I have begun a new fitness and weight loss type of life since the end of May 2006, I thought I would record my experience in this blog, so here it is.

I was stunned this morning, to measure my weight at 80.2kg, although my backside was very explosive yesterday, which may account for the sudden loss.

Yesterday was my first venture to the pub since my diet started. I went to the Extreme Bar in Chantemerle, where Sue and Maddy had already gone to meet a friend. I had one glass of red wine and then left! Discipline like this is unheard of for me. My total kcal count was less than 1000 yesterday, which may also help explain that lovely 80.2kg was all about.

How annoying, just when it was all going so smoothly, my arse explodes and is a bit sore, so not sure if cycling is going to be the best thing to do today….that's probably enough detail now for most people.

Today I bought some bathroom scales and found out that I was 85.1kg. I measured myself as 173cm so

BMI=85.1/1.73×1.73 = 28.43

Personal Best:

OK I didn’t really do anything yesterday so I thought I better pull the stops out today…however, what with looking after Maddy etc etc we didn’t get much of a break at all today.   Sue reached her ‘personal best’ the other day by swimming 22 lengths and she did it again today. My ‘personal best’ was 26 so today I did 30 today to make up for doing bugger all yesterday.  30 is 600m so at least I have broken the half kilometre psychological boundary next stop 1km.

I returned later on Sunday to Les Cases d’Alcanar in the car with Sue and Maddy to show them my new discovery. There is a great promenade there which goes on for a few kilometres, but the beach is pebbles rather than sand. A nice place though that we shall return to on a nice warm sunny evening for a good seaside stroll.
