Amazing Best Man Speech

Nicole, George and Anthony and an amazing best man speech

Here is an example of an amazing speech by Anthony, the brother of George. George and Nicole were lucky to have an excellent well delivered speech from Anthony, who managed to thoroughly engage his audience straightaway. Anthony delivered a powerful sincere message in the first two sentences and then in his third sentence turned it around into something incredibly funny. From that point on, he had the audiences attention and they absorbed every word he said afterwards. This is a great example of a best man speech, which you can use as inspiration for your own best man speech.

There comes a time in everyone’s life when they meet their one true love: their soul mate. The person that’s going to know and love them for the rest of their life. That moment came for George 25 years ago, when he met me. I guess I should introduce myself to those of you who don’t know me. My name is Anthony, I’m George’s younger brother. To be asked today by George to be his best man is an honor for me, but it’s also very honorable of him because he’s finally admitting to each and every one of you that I truly am the best. I would also like to say how beautiful most of you look tonight. I’m glad to see that some of you actually made an effort. Speaking of beautiful, our bride, Nicole, looks absolutely stunning. It’s scary to see how George has become so enchanted by her, but to be honest – her beauty tonight is making George a little bit more handsome than he actually is. Sorry!

Now, for those of you who don’t know and are amongst those who do, growing up, George and I were polar opposites. He was smart and driven, I was the funny goofball. He was athletic, I was and still am incredibly good-looking. It is because of our different but distinct personalities that we did fight, a lot. In fact, George was always so much bigger than me that my parents forbid him from hitting me when we got into fights. I used to take advantage of that, and I would torture him all the time. I apologize for that after all these years.

But we did have our good times. Playing football in the yard. Playing hockey up front with Jessie and Jamie, or when we would play American Gladiators with our Nerf guns. It’s memories like these with my big brother that I’m never going to forget.

High school is where I first met Nicole. I met her in my freshman year because we were both members of the digital yearbook. I remember instantly liking her because she didn’t compare me to George like many of the upperclassmen and even some of the teachers had. Beyond that, she was just a good person and I felt like I could actually be myself around her – I didn’t have to try and impress her. I love you for that.

Then, I’ll fast-forward to college. I remember coming home, my parents and George were in the living room. I go to put my stuff down and I realize someone else is in the room and its Nicole. It was at this point that I found out the two of them had been dating, and the first of many that I would find her sitting in my favorite couch, which I’ll still get you back for! After George and I graduated college, we got much closer. We still fought, but we hung out a lot more often as well. Nicole and George were having a low key night, gong to the movies, going bowling; they’d always invite me along and neither one of them made me feel like I was a third-wheel. I remember one night we were driving around afterwards, smiling and having a great time. At that moment, I knew Nicole was going to be around for the long-haul. She made my brother happy in a way that I hadn’t seen him smile like that in a while. I can honestly say, Nicole, that you might be the reason why George and I are as close as I am now.

The last four years, our relationship in our brotherhood got tighter. We do still fight, of course, but for different reasons. We fight hard because we love harder. A few weeks ago, George, you and I were at the car wash and we were talking about the wedding. Out of nowhere, you turned to me and said: you know, I’m really glad that you and I got so close. I remember looking at you and thinking this was kind of out of left field, and responded: me too. And then you said something to me I know I’m never going to forget, you said: I just want to let you know that I’m always on your side, I am now and I will always be your biggest fan.

The truth of the matter is I could say the same for you. Through thick and thin, good and bad, you’re my big brother. I always look up to you and I’ve always admired you. Nicole, I couldn’t be any happier that you are now part of our family. Seeing the two of you together just looks complete. I wish you nothing but happiness, love, and success for the rest of your years. If you’ll join me in raising a glass to toast a happy couple, George and Nicole. Love is a force more impressive than any other because it is invisible, it cannot be seen but it can transform you in a moment and offer you more joy than any material possession ever could. Congratulations.
