My dead laptop hard drive

This hard drive is from my Toshiba Satellite 4080XCDT that has unfortunately suffered a power supply problem that is to expensive to fix. To retrieve the data from the drive I bought a 2.5” to 3.5” hard drive converter (99p from ebay!) and connected it as a second drive to my desktop PC. Windows XP recognized the drive straightaway and I was able to read the drive perfectly and so transfer all the data to my new laptop drive. Since then I have tried to format the drive with every intention of selling it on ebay; ready to be installed either as a replacement laptop hard drive or maybe in an external case as a handy external drive. Unfortunately the drive had a serious problem and would not format so it was only good for being thrown in the bin!! The size of this drive is small by today’s standards, but 2.5” drives are only available now in large sizes and are consequently expensive, I was hoping to sell it real cheap, but now it’s worthless. Doh!
