Wordpress "http://localhost/removecookies" problem with mod_security

I was having a problem with Wordpress behaving badly all of a sudden. The site in question was hosted at eUKhost.com so I had a chat with Kieran, a technical guy there. This problem is not well documented on the internet so I thought I would post the transcript here:

Rick Lomas: now apparantly this is NOT a wordpress problem but something to do with some "JavaScript injection protection filter" on the Apache installation

Rick Lomas: With Stuart the other day, the same problem was on campervansdirect.co.uk and I think it got sorted, but I'm not sure how

Kieran: I have disabled mod_security for your site, But you will have to check your pluggin settings for Wordpress.
Rick Lomas: shall I give it a go? I think that was what stuart did the other day
Kieran: Stuart has just updated me about disable mod_security issue with WP.

Kieran: Just disable mod_security. Stuart has just corrected with new code.
