Isn't it weird how differently people use computers? Everybody uses there computer in a different way! For example…

Thanks for the offer but I’m trying to reduce my time spent on the PC.  I have lost interest in web design now, although I do enjoy taking pictures and uploading to flickr which is quite addictive. I do sell the occasional thing on ebay but don’t buy a great deal on it since they stopped us using at work.

I opened a face book account to see what Ashley’s page looked like and the family have a few videos and pictures on there as well.  However I have no idea what giving a nudge or having a sheep thrown at you means!!

I replied back,

"No worries steve, the whole internet marketing/web 2.0 can be quite overwhelming…it has taken me about 6 years to finally earn a living online, but that means I can live in France and not do a crappy job. I probably do more hours than I ever did for Reed, but now I feel really in control of my earnings.

www.biggitup.com is a bit of a gamble, but www.motorhomesdirect.co.uk is earning a nice few quid now.

Facebook and Flickr are both great examples of web 2.0 social networks that are working very well, I use them too and try my hardest not to abuse them, but I can’t help it….for example… http://www.flickr.com/photos/ricklomas/1919588876/

Web design is a horrible business, now I just do things like buy a domain like www.1dollaronly.com redirect it to my affiliate link and then just make sure I have a few spots in the top 10 in google for the phrase ‘traffic geyser review’ by using video. (I just counted 9 out of the top 10 results in google for ‘traffic geyser review’) and then in the video say go to www.1dollaronly.com to try it out! Early days, but this is working well for me at the moment.

FYI if anyone  asks me to make a website for them now, I make a blog…that’s what www.uk-mortgage-protection.com is, a wordpress blog. It takes about an hour to make a site like that and you can easily charge someone £500-£1000 for something like thatJ. Even better you can give them a login and they can edit it from anywhere, without FTP or anything, so they are not bugging you all the time. You can also make the blog ping all the search engines so you can get page rankings right away. It’s very cool.

So I guess it's not for everyone amd I must admit it makes my shoulders and my eyes ache. Next stop is definately, without a doubt….outsourcing! Can't wait.

Ultimately I would like my job to be shooting video and blogging via my cellphone and never going near a computer.
