Instructions for Unlocking Nokia 6230i:
If you have any problems please contact me instead of entering a wrong code repeatedly, as you are only allowed 5 errors total and then the phone can only be unlocked with a cable!
If you have any problems please contact me instead of entering a wrong code repeatedly, as you are only allowed 5 errors total and then the phone can only be unlocked with a cable!
Warnings and Tips:
If the unlock code has been entered incorrectly more than 5 times
then upon entering in further codes the phone will display "Cannot
Undo Restriction" or "Not Allowed" message instead of 'Code Error'. If
you see either of these messages, then only a cable solution can
unlock it!
If the code does not work after the first try: STOP !!!!!
1) Double check you have used the correct IMEI - press *#06# into
the handset to display your IMEI. (many people miss a digit)
2) Double check you have entered the network the phone is locked to.
3) Make sure your phone is not already unlocked! Sounds dumb but some
people just don't know if their phone is unlocked!
To check if your phone is locked, insert a foreign SIM card into the
phone. (a SIM card that the is from a different carrier) - the phone should
display something like 'Enter Restriction Code' or 'SIM not accepted' - if
you see this then your phone is still locked!
4) If you bought this phone used, are you sure the prior owner didn't try to
unlock it with bad codes and went past the 5 code limit ?
For DCT4/5 type phones: If the first code (code #1) did not work - please
try code #7.
For DCT3 type phones: Only try the code 2 times
If after entering any code 2 times correctly, and your phone is still locked -
STOP AND SEEK HELP.
Remember - if you try 5 times or more and it is not unlocked, you do not
get any more chances. You will have to have the 'firmware' in your phone
flashed via cable to remove the locks.
