Wii Secrets, 15 Nintendo Tips

  1. When you’re in the Mii channel and you haven’t used the Wiimote for a while you will notice that the Miis start to walk around, at this point, if you suddenly use the Wiimote, all the Miis stop and follow the ‘hand’ for around 3 seconds.
  2. When typing messages, if you need to edit the message, while still typing, instead of deleting letters, just move the cursor to where you want to type.
  3. In Wii Sports Bowling, when you press up on the Directional Pad, it will zoom in on the lane. The zoom in sound is the exact same sound from Super Mario 64 anytime you moved the camera.
  4. Co Op Jigsaw puzzles in Wii photos
  5. Amazingly enough, you can place the sensor bar upside down and it doesn’t reverse the directions of your movements.
  6. In Wii sports bowling, you can release on the back swing and throw the ball backwards. It scares all the Miis behind you.
  7. Evil Cat; in the Photo Channel, you can catch the cat that runs across the screen to get tips! It appears in the Fun option and you can grab the cat with the A and B button.
  8. By holding down the 1 button before selecting any piece amount, you can have a 194 piece puzzle.
  9. If you want to check out Photo Channel, but don’t have an SD card, you can e-mail a jpeg to your Wii Message Board.
  10. In Bowling, you can throw your ball into other people’s lanes.
  11. If you put mp3s on a SD card with your photos, you can change the background music during a slideshow to one of your mp3s that you select.
  12. The messageboard records your play time, if you properly exit to the menu and then shut down it will record the play time as the correct game. If you don’t exit to the Wii Menu before you power off the machine, it records the play time as “other”.
  13. By just holding the A and B buttons, you can rearrange almost anything on the Wii…like the channels and messages
  14. The 'Plasma Burin' reduction kicks in the second the Wiimote shuts down.
  15. When you get an e-mail, the disc drive lights up and flashes blue, and your Wiimote makes a little chirping sound.
